What does the Prop 65 warning mean?

The Prop 65 designation is a requirement by the state of California for products that may contain traces of any chemical on the state's list, which changes annually. It is not the same as a regulatory decision that a product is "safe" or "unsafe. We're simply required to provide a general warning on all of our products that might be sold in California.

Can this pipe be used outdoors?

We recommend using our galvanized pipe for outdoor use.

How long is the threaded part of each pipe end?

Each pipe size will have different thread lengths ranging from 0.78” (1/2” pipe) to 1.02” (2” pipe). Please note that our threads are tapered and have allowable variances. 

Why are my pipes greasy?

PIPE DECOR® is the real deal. Our black steel pipe can be used with air, gas, and liquid propane, while our galvanized pipe can be used for air and water applications.


To prevent rusting in transit we coat our black pipe in a light industrial grease to help maintain quality. We recommend cleaning and sealing your pipe when you receive it. Once cleaning off the protective oil, we recommend coating your pipe with a polyurethane finishing spray or Minwax finishing wax.

Can I use my own table top?

Yes. If using a wood tabletop, simply position the flanges as needed and drill to attach them in place. If using glass, marble, or any other material that can't be drilled normally, you’ll need to use some type of adhesive to keep the flange and pipe leg in place.

You can either use a pad with double-sided adhesive or use glass glue with a regular rubber pad to secure the flange. Alternately, you can secure wood to the bottom of your tabletop with an adhesive and drill the flanges into that.

Do your pipes have stickers?

All of our pipes are DIY-friendly and most of our items are sticker-free. Our BIG PIPE (1 1/4" diameter and wider) has easy-peel stickers for effortless removal.

We've discontinued our Free Shipping on First Time Purchase offer to focus on providing more value to our customers through other promotions and discounts. Instead, we're now offering ongoing deals and special offers that benefit both new and returning customers alike. This allows us to better allocate resources and provide a consistently excellent shopping experience for everyone.

If I choose FedEx Home Delivery, when will my order arrive?

FedEx Home Delivery® ships using ground services and is not an air service.  Ground transit lead times are calculated using the origin zip code an destination zip code, and the stated number of days are not guaranteed.  FedEx 2 Day and FedEx Standard Overnight shipping are an Air Service.

What is your return policy?

Items may be returned within 30 days of purchase. 

The item must be in its original condition and packaging, with all tags attached. 

Proof of purchase, such as a receipt or order confirmation, must be provided. 

Shipping costs are non-refundable. 

For returns, customers can choose between a refund to the original payment method or a store credit refund.

It is important to note that we have this policy in place to ensure that we can provide our customers with high-quality products and excellent customer service. After the 30-day period, it becomes difficult for us to resell the item, and we cannot guarantee that the item has not been damaged or used. 

We encourage our customers to inspect their items upon receipt and contact us promptly if there are any order issues. This will allow us to address the problem and work towards a solution in a timely manner. 

In case of product damage or loss during shipping, contact the shipment carrier directly to file a claim. Retain all packaging materials and damaged goods for the claim process.

Can I cancel an order after placing/processed it?

Due to our efforts to ensure that you receive your order as quickly and accurately as possible, we are unable to cancel or make changes to your order after you have placed it with us.

How long does shipping take?

Orders normally ship the same day if placed before 2 p.m. CST Monday through Friday. This policy pertains to our pre-designed PIPE DECOR® kits. Custom orders that we pick and pack especially for you will ship the next day.

Orders ship by UPS Ground and USPS. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes.

Estimated shipping times can be determined using the map shown below. This map is to be used as a general guide as shipping times may vary according to several factors.
Transit times may vary during the heavy holiday shipping season.

How can I exchange my item?

Please note that we do not offer traditional exchanges. The best way to exchange your item is to contact us for a refund, return your product, then purchase the new product from our website.

To begin your return, please send us an email at help@pipe-decor.com with your order number and the items you wish to return. We will give you a quote for a shipping label as well as a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).

Return shipping is paid by the buyer for all non-defective returns or exchanges. If the product is defective or damaged, we will provide a prepaid shipping label. Your refund will be initiated once your return has been processed at our warehouse.

Have a damaged or missing item?

In case of product damage or loss during shipping, contact the shipment carrier directly to file a claim. Retain all packaging materials and damaged goods for the claim process.

If your item arrives damaged not as a result of shipping, please send us an email at help@pipe-decor.com with your order number along with pictures of the damaged items within 48 hours.

Can you customize a kit for me?

We do not offer custom design services at this time.

Do you offer custom pipe lengths?

We currently do not offer custom pipe lengths at this time.
However, we offer a wide selection of black and galvanized pipe.

Do you offer live edge wood?

We currently offer live edge wood with our console table kitsand  bench kits.

We are partnered with a sustainable wood provider in the American southwest. Our RESTORE by PIPE DECOR® line of shelves, tabletops, and furniture uses this wood, which has been harvested through responsible forestry methods. It comes pre-cut and stained in a variety of finishes. 

What size pipe do I need?

Use 1/2 in pipe for wall-mounted projects.

Hooks, shelves, and wall-mounted clothing racks are 1/2 in pipe.

Use 3/4 in and 1 in pipe for desks and tables.

3/4 in and 1 in diameter pipe are perfect for legs, desks,
and floor mounted projects that need the extra strength.

Shelves

Screw flanges into studs when possible.
Shelves attached with anchors can only hold up to 50 pounds.
Flanges that are screwed into wood studs can hold up to 100 pounds.

Recommendations

4 legs for 2-4.9 ft. desk/table top
6 legs for 5-7.9 ft. desk/table top
8 legs for 8-12 ft. desk/table top

Max Weight

Pipe legs can hold several hundred pounds per set of 4 legs.
The strength of your table top is more important than the strength of your table or desk legs.

Screws and Hardware

We provide a set of four 3/4 in. screws per leg in each of our leg kits.
H-Legs are sturdier than normal legs.
Adding the cross bar is more stable and is encouraged for larger projects.

Casters

Max Weight

The load capacity for our casters (all 3 caster sizes; ½” – ¾” – 1”)  is 100 lbs per caster.

CLEAN AND SEAL INSTRUCTIONS

CLEAN

Recommended Supplies: Regular De-greasing Dish Soap and Wash Cloths. Gloves are optional.

In your kitchen sink or utility sink wash your pipe decor pieces with warm water and dish soap until the oil is removed. Rinse well after washing.

Wipe the pipe dry with a wash cloth and wait until COMPLETELY DRY. The pieces must be completely dry before sealing them.

SEAL

Recommended Supplies: Polyurethane Matte or Satin Finish Spray or Finishing Wax, Gloves and Wash or Lint-Free Cloths.

Spray each dry pipe and fitting with a polyurethane matte or satin finish. Wait until dry to assemble kit.Coat each dry piece with a finishing wax. Wait 20 minutes then polish with a wash cloth by wiping them down. The faster wiping will result in a shinier finish.
