Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps, and before you know it, your brand-new Reader Table Lamp will be illuminating your space. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Assemble the Base

Begin by attaching the big flange (C) to the bushing (B). This will serve as the base of your lamp, ensuring it stays sturdy on your table or desk.

Now, screw the 1.5” pipe (D) into the top of the bushing, and attach the tee fitting (E) to the other end of the pipe. This structure forms the base and spine of your lamp.

Tip: Start threading the electrical wire through the flange and bushing at this step to save time later. It’s easier to feed the wire now than after assembly.

Step 2: Build the Neck

Next, attach the 12” pipe (F) to the open end of the tee. This will extend the structure vertically and create the neck of your lamp.

At the top of the 12” pipe, screw on one of the 90° elbows (G). This is where things start to take shape. The elbow will give your lamp that sleek, industrial curve.

Step 3: Add the Arm and Top Elbow

Now, take the 2.5” pipe (H) and connect it to the 90° elbow you just installed. On the other side of the 2.5” pipe, attach the second 90° elbow (G). Make sure both elbows are aligned properly to create a smooth curve.

Step 4: Finish the Socket Base and Wire Management

Connect the second bushing (I) to the open end of the top elbow. Here’s where things get a bit technical—thread the remaining wire through all the pipes and fittings, making sure there’s 1-2 inches of slack coming out at the socket base.

Pro Tip: If the wire seems stuck while threading, unscrew a few elbows to adjust the alignment. Sometimes, wires can get caught inside the fittings.

Step 5: Connect the Electrical Socket

Carefully push the wire into the small rectangular holes at the base of the electrical socket. Give the wire a gentle tug to ensure it’s secure and won’t come loose.

Don’t attach the socket to the lamp just yet—first, you need to test it!

Step 6: Test Your Lamp

Before fully assembling, slide the cardboard sleeve and socket cover over the electrical socket. Screw in your favorite light bulb (we recommend an Edison bulb for a vintage look).

Now it’s time to plug in the lamp and flip the switch! Check to make sure everything works properly. If the lamp lights up, you’re almost done!

Step 7: Lock It in Place and Enjoy

Once the lamp is working, press the socket firmly into the base until you hear a satisfying click. And just like that, your Reader Table Lamp is complete!
