Halloween is creeping around the corner, and it’s time to delve into the spirit with some unique, spooky, and fun DIY decorations! Today, we’re going to guide you through crafting a Halloween mini-display arch, made with pipes. You can use the mini-display arch as a bewitching candy display holder for Halloween, giving your spooky decor an industrial vibe.

But this display isn’t just exclusive for Halloween. This DIY project is designed to be your canvas through every season. With just a few tweaks, this piece effortlessly transitions from a Halloween set piece to a charming Christmas decoration or an enchanting Easter display. So let’s get started in crafting this versatile decor piece. 

Materials Needed:

1 - restore 24-inch wood (Available in Boulder Black, Riverstone Gray, Trail Brown, and Sunset Cedar colors)

2 - 1/2 inch flanges

2 - 1/2 x 12 inch pipe

1 - 1/2 x 24 inch pipe

1 set of 3 - pipe hooks

3 - cauldrons

2 - 1/2 inch 90° elbows

Before you begin assembling the Halloween mini-display arch, it’s important that you clean and seal your pipes and fittings first. PIPE DECOR® pipes and fittings are coated in a light, protective oil to prevent rusting during transit. To clean, simply wash the pipes and fittings with warm water and dish soap until the oil is completely removed. Dry the pipes thoroughly with a dry washcloth before continuing to the next step.

For the sealing process, you can either do it with a polyurethane spray or with a finishing wax. If using a polyurethane spray, simply spray each pipe and fitting making sure to coat the entire surface and let it dry before assembling. If sealing with a finishing wax, coat pipes and fittings with wax and wait 20 minutes before polishing. Using a dry washcloth, polish each piece until you’ve reached your desired sheen. You may also seal pipes by spray painting them with the color of your choice.

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s proceed with the build.

Assembly

Step 1: Attach a ½ inch flange to one end of a ½ x 12-inch pipe and attach a ½ inch 90° elbow to the other end of the pipe. Do the same for the other set of pipes and fittings. You should have two identical structures that will serve as the legs for the build.

Step 2: Attach one end of the ½ inch x 24-inch pipe to one of the legs through the elbow.

Step 3: slide in the pipe hooks on the ½ inch x 24-inch pipe and connect the exposed end of the pipe to the other elbow from the other leg.

Step 4: Lay down the assembled arch structure to the wood base making sure that they are level and stable. Adjust the flanges of both feet to make the structure level.

Step 5: hang the mini cauldrons to the hooks and decorate with accessories. Add candy to the cauldrons, wrap artificial spiderwebs around the pipes, wrap lights or tinsel around it, or add any Halloween-themed accessory to give it a spooky vibe.
